Zuzu Luxe "The Mascara" review

Hey guys! Since I am just about to throw out my mascara because it is almost 3 months old, I thought it would be a perfect time to tell you how I felt about it. Ok, this was not my FAVORITE mascara ever, but it did the job and based on the fact that it has very clean ingredients, and was reasonably priced I give it a thumbs up.
sorry about the awful pic..I'm not good at closeups!

I actually got mine on ebay for $16.00 and free shipping, but I think it is around that same price on any of the natural discount stores as well. When I first got it I was really excited because I had only used 2 other natural mascaras since my switch ( 100% pure, and honey bee gardens), and I was really looking for something that would give my lashes a little more "umph". But sadly, this was not the one to do it, which was disappointing because I LOVE their liquid liner.

 FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

"Did it even apply anything to my lashes"? It was VERY natural looking. Which isn't a bad thing if that's what you are looking for, but I was really looking for a mascara that would give me the volume I had been missing since ditching my conventional makeup. I believe the reason for the lack of volume is that the formula is so wet when it is fresh. I actually had to let my brush set out and dry up a little before applying to make it a little bit tacky and separate my lashes enough to look like I was even wearing mascara. I also tried applying it with an lash/brow brush which did help a little with volume.

AFTER A MONTH OF USE:

The formula did dry up a little and I did find it gave my lashes a little more definition and I actually grew to like it. The more it dried up, the better it performed and it became a really nice mascara for "no make-up make-up" days, or to wear to work. After all is said and done, I think I would recommend this mascara to anyone who loves a subtle, natural looking make-up look. Have you ever tried Zuzu Luxe mascara? Did you like it?

I'm back on youtube! Natural Favorites | July 2013

Hey guys! As you can see from the title...I'm back to making youtube videos. The only difference is that this time it's on a new channel called NBeautyJunkie. I wanted all of my social media accounts to match and be cohesive, and before each account had different names. This channel is going to be a little different when it comes to videos too. I am going to try to do hauls and favorites videos mostly just because those things are the videos I like to see the most. Let me know if you have any suggestions for videos. Also, can anyone recommend a good quality moderately priced camera for videos? I am using a Kodak easy share and as you can see...it's not the best for videos. I hope you like my new channel!

Lily Farm Fresh Skin care - Seven facial Rejuvinating Oil treatment Review

Hey guys! Back in late April, I was contacted by a company called Lily Farm Fresh Skin care to select a product to review.  After browsing online, and checking out the company I was really excited because not only were there products organic....the ingredients are all grown by the company themselves! They have been around since 1986 (I was 3 years old!), and they have their own certified organic laboratory, and a USDA certified organic farm in Colorado where they make all of their own products. I don't know about you, but I really like to support companies that go out of their way to produce quality products, and really have your skin's best interest at heart. I ended up choosing the Seven Facial Rejuvenating Oil Treatment for dry/ mature skin because as I get older, I am becoming more and more interested in age prevention, and I didn't have any skincare products like this in my collection.

The description on the bottle says:

"Re-knits collagen and reduces wrinkles and appearance of fine lines"

I don't actually have any wrinkles yet, but my skin is pretty dry and dry skin is more succeptable to getting fine lines. I can't have that! When I first received the facial oil in the mail, I was impressed with the packaging. It came in a really nice glass pump bottle, and the pump was actually functional. I have had bad luck in the past with pumps, they end up getting clogged or stuck soon after I start using it, but that isn't the case here. The oil itself is quite nice too. It is very thick for a facial oil, unlike argan or jojoba oil that just soak into my skin really quickly leaving it feeling like I need more moisturizer. This stuff soaks in, and also stays put on top of my skin leaving it feeling very hydrated but not greasy. I am very impressed with this stuff! I was a little put off by the scent though, it has lavender essential oil, and smells kind of "herbally" which I am not a fan of. But after a test patch on my arm revealed no sign of irritation or lingering scent, I gave it a try on my face and the next day my skin was so soft and supple looking! It even helped repair some little red acne spots I had and helped to get rid of a few actual zits that I was suffering the wrath of. This is my only night time moisturizer these days and I couldn't be happier with the way my skin looks and feels. The redness has calmed down, acne scars are starting to fade and my skin just feels so soft and supple. I really recommend checking out this company if you are looking for really high quality natural skin care products. Have you ever tried Lily Farm Fresh Skin care? What is your favorite product?

BIG OOPS &my naked blog

Hey guys! I'm sure you may have noticed that something is missing from my pages. That something is pictures, and it's because I'm an idiot and accidentally deleted them. I got a new phone and this picasa album just showed up in my gallery with hundreds of pictures and and I wasn't sure what the heck it was....so I deleted it. Turns out it was every single image I had ever used on this blog, even ones I had deleted. Most of them cannot be recovered because I did not have this computer when I posted them, but I did find alot of them on my computer and I'm going to start re posting them today. Has anything like this ever happened to you? I hope you can still enjoy future posts now that I know what picasa is and there is no danger of them getting erased. ♥

No more stinky pits!! pHresh Deodorant review

Hey guys! Did you see my June favorites post yet? If not...you can check it out here. The reason I ask is because I featured this product in my June favorites, but I am going to tell you a little more about it now. I was in search of an EFFECTIVE natural deodorant because the one I have been using almost the entire time I have been using natural products (Nourish Almond Vanilla, review here) had been failing miserably at odor protection in this very humid, Kentucky summer heat. I was getting comments from the bf that I was less than pleasant smelling after work, and that's nothing you want to hear when you are getting close with your man. Something had to be done!
So one night I was trolling on iherb.com, and after scrolling through what seemed like hundreds of deodorants I had already looked at before, I saw one that was new to me. It was called pHresh, and after checking the description I was curious. I got on Google and searched for reviews on pHresh deodorant, and every one I came across said the same thing..." it really works!" After I ran through the ingredients list (twice), and read a few reviews, I was sold and ordered the Tropical Blossom scent.

They offer five different scents: Tropical Blossom( light tropical breeze scent), Barely Sweet (light berry blossom scent), Creme Brulee (vanilla sugar scent), Phree Unscented (unscented), and Sugar Mint (minty scent). I went for the tropical blossom because the description said it smells like a tropical breeze, and I want to feel like I'm on the beach since there's no beach in Ky. The decription on the tube says:

"Contains soothing organic aloe, along with a powerful antimicrobial ingredient that helps stop odor causing bacteria. pHresh glides on smooth and clean. 100% Natural. Propylene glycol free. Aluminum free. Chemical free. Gentle and non-irritating."

I am excited to say that it lives up to it's claims! When my new deodorant arrived, I was so excited to try it out...but unfortunately it was night time so I had to wait until the next day. Danget.
As soon as I got up though, I showered, and applied it, and the first thing I noticed was the scent. It has a very strong scent! Like, conventional deodorant strong. That excited me. One of the problems I find with natural deodorant, is that they are usually so lightly scented, they don't mask odors as well as they could. Is it just me that feels that way? The second thing I noticed, and was not as happy about, was the packaging. It is very strangely shaped. Unlike most deodorants that are just an oval shape, this one has the regular oval but then tapers into a smaller oval at the top of the stick. The stick is also a little loose inside the tube, and wobbles around in there.

The reason I don't like this is because when you pull the lid off, the stick seems to be stuck in it, and it pulls the stick out of the tube a little. I find it kind of annoying to have to keep pushing the stick back down in the tube every time I use it, but considering the ingredients, and effectiveness, I can deal with it.  I also like that it doesn't leave white residue on my clothing like some other deodorants will (The Bubble and Bee brand was so crumbly it got all over everything!) Let's move onto effectiveness!
If you have freshly washed/shaved arm pits, this is no doubt the BEST natural deodorant I have ever used. If you have not washed your arm pits before applying, it is still really effective, but doesn't last as long against odors as it does on clean skin. As effective as it is, in really hot weather, you might have to re-apply at least once throughout the day. I find this to be true of all deodorant though, even conventional ones. With the Nourish, I was re-applying probably 3 times a day! That's a big improvement! I am really happy I decided to try this brand out, and I can't wait to try the other scents, and I hope you will give it a try too!   Do you have a favorite natural deodorant?
